Pramod Tandukar joined ICIMOD in January 2014 as Executive Secretary of ICIMOD Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that supports ICIMOD’s activities and efforts through engaging the private sector. He partially contributes to ICIMOD’s Strategic Cooperation Unit. He holds a Master's in Leisure, Tourism, and Environment from the Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and is a specialist on adapting application of Rapid Appraisal of Agricultural Knowledge Systems (RAAKS) - a participatory knowledge management tool - for tourism purpose.
He started his career with the World Conservation Union (IUCN) in 1996 and has considerable work experience in environment, development, and media sectors. He has a proven track record of success on strategic programme management and administration, management of partnership model, project management, fund raising and donor coordination, and media management. Before joining ICIMOD Foundation, he was Executive Director of Antenna Foundation. He has experience of implementing different projects supported by Enabling State Programme/ DFID, UN Women, UNESCO, Embassy of Finland, British Embassy, Internews, National Endowment for Democracy, BBC World Service Trust, The Asia Foundation, Save the Children, DanidaHUGOU, Action Aid Nepal, and SNV Nepal.
