Himalica Pilot Write Shop: Synthesizing Climate Resilient Practices and Processes for Uptake

   TwitCount

The Support to Rural Livelihoods and Climate Change Adaptation in the Himalaya (Himalica) is a demand-driven programme financed by the European Union (EU) and managed by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). The pilot component of Himalica has tested affordable and locally appropriate (low external input) technologies and practices in six pilot sites in selected mountain areas of Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Bangladesh to help communities cope with and respond to the impacts of climate change.

The write shop will synthesize key findings from our six pilot sites in five countries in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH). It will also focus on distilling how the piloted low cost climate resilient technologies and practices in each site may be upscaled and made more effective for end users and other practitioners in the field. Key messages will be extracted and consolidated with experiences from the different pilot studies along the following themes: water, soil and nutrients, energy, ICT (weather, market and crop advisory), knowledge and networks, and gender.
