Nusrat Nasab

Head of Emergency Management, Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH)

Nusrat Nasab has been working in the field of Development and Disaster Risk Reduction for the past two decades. Currently, she is on an international assignment and serving as Head of Emergency Management at the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH), an apex agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). AKAH aims to address the increasing threat posed by natural disasters and climate change, and works to ensure that poor people live in physical settings that are as safe as possible from the effects of natural disasters. AKAH works to make sure that residents who do live in high-risk areas are able to cope with disasters in terms of preparedness and response, and that these settings provide access to social and financial services that lead to greater opportunity and a better quality of life. 

Nasab has a proven record of accomplishment in the field of prevention, mitigation, and preparedness programs as well as emergency projects. She has a Master’s degree from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, in Development Economics and another degree in Economics from Pakistan. She also voluntarily serves as Member Director at various boards of governance in Pakistan.
