Muzaffar Uddin 

Head, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP)

A native of Shimshal, Hunza, Muzaffar Uddin received his MBA from Quaid-e-Azam University, Pakistan and his MSc Business Enterprise from Oxford Brookes in United Kingdom. Muzaffar Uddin is widely considered to be one of the region’s leading experts on community-based participatory rural development. He has contributed to ending poverty, overcoming microeconomic instability, promoting micro finance and small enterprise development, value chain development, and promoting sustainable development practices in the most remote and mountainous community of Pakistan. Uddin has participated in many trainings around the world on microfinance and enterprise development. At academic level, he has contributed to Small Enterprise Journal, UK, among others, and teaches entrepreneurship at different universities in Pakistan. For more than 22 years he has worked for rural and community development in both national and international organisations. Currently, he heads the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP).
