  • A. K. Enamul Haque, Professor, East West University, Bangladesh
    Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque is affiliated to economics, East West University, Bangladesh. Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque is currently providing services as professor. Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers and presented works at many national and International conferences. Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque contributions have acclaimed recognition from honorable subject experts around the world. Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque is actively associated with different societies and academies. Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque academic career is decorated with several reputed awards and funding. Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque research interests include Natural resource economics, environmental valuation, cost benefit analysis, applied microeconomics.
  • E. Somanathan, Professor, The Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, India
    Som is Professor at the Indian Statistical Institute in Delhi and Program Director at CECFEE (Centre for research on the Economics of Climate, Food, Energy and Environment) Som has also taught at Emory University, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and Princeton University. He was a Coordinating Lead Author for Working Group III of the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He is currently the Editor of the journal Environment and Development Economics, published by Cambridge University Press. Som received a SANDEE grant in 2002 and has been a SANDEE Advisor since 2005. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in 1995.
  • François Libois, Researcher, French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, Professor, Paris School of Economics
    Dr. François Libois is a researcher at the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment as well as professor at the Paris School of Economics. By training he is an applied microeconomist, working at the intersection of environmental, development and institutional economics. He combines socioeconomic data with environmental science data in his research to understand how the environment affects human behaviour and how human actions impact ecosystems. More than half of his research time is devoted to projects dealing with Nepal, mostly around issues related to forest management and energy access. He has also some project on small-scale fisheries and on the provision of public goods by non-governmental organizations.
  • Jeff Vincent, Korstian Professor, Duke University, USA
    Jeff Vincent is the Clarence F. Korstian Professor of Forest Economics and Management, and Co-Chair of the Master of Forestry (MF) Program in the Nicholas School. Jeff’s research focuses on the economics of natural resource management and policy in developing countries, with a primary focus on forestry issues in Asia.Over his career, he has blended academic research, teaching, and administration; leadership of large, donor-funded policy advising projects; and capacity-building and mid-career training. He held previous positions at the University of California, San Diego (School of International Relations & Pacific Studies), Harvard University (Institute for International Development), and Michigan State University (Department of Forestry). Vincent’s current interests focus on the economics of forest restoration in the Global South. His past work has addressed various topics, including the tropical timber trade, forest concession policies, biodiversity conservation, green accounting, and valuation of forest ecosystem services. His country experience includes Brazil, Bulgaria, China, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, South Africa, and Thailand.

  • Priya Shyamsundar, Lead Economist, The Nature Conservancy, USA
    Priya Shyamsundar is Lead Economist at The Nature Conservancy. With extensive experience on the economics of environment and development, Priya’s research covers a range of local to global urban and rural environmental problems.  Previously, Priya was Founder Director of SANDEE, a research network that helps examine and identify solutions to shared environment-development challenges across seven countries in South Asia.   Priya has served on advisory committees associated with the Government of India, the World Bank and the International Geosphere-Biosphere Program.
  • Soumya Balasubramanya, Senior Economist, The World Bank
    Soumya Balasubramanya is a Senior Economist at the World Bank’s Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global practice, and very recently joined SANDEE advisory committee. She was previously with the CGIAR between 2011–2022. She conducts original field-based research on poverty, development and equity challenges in Asia and Africa, at the nexus of water, agriculture, environment, energy, and health, using large sample survey methods. She collaborates with universities, governments, and the private sector in low-, middle- and high-income countries to influence research, dialogue, funding, policy, and practice on inclusive development. She is also an Associate Editor for the journals Agricultural Economics, and Water Resources and Economics. She also coordinates the Committee for Women in Agricultural Economics of the International Association of Agricultural Economics. Her work has been featured in media outlets such as BBC, Forbes, NPR, The Economist and The Guardian. Soumya received a PhD in Environment and Development Economics from Duke University in 2011.
  • Subhrendu Pattanayak, Oak Professor of Environment and Energy Policy, Duke University, USA
    Subhrendu K. Pattanayak is the Oak Professor of Environmental and Energy Policy at Duke University. He studies the causes and consequences of human behaviors related to the natural environment to help design and evaluate policy interventions in low-income tropical countries. His research is in three domains at the intersection of environment, development, health and energy: forest ecosystem services, environmental health (diarrhea, malaria, respiratory infections) and household energy transitions.

    Céline Nauges is research director at the French Institute for Research in Agriculture (INRA) and member of the TSE Environmental Economics and Natural Resources thematic group. Her main research interests are in agricultural and environmental economics. Her research focuses on supply and demand management of drinking water in developed and developing countries, risk management in agriculture, and the analysis of agricultural policies and their impact on the environment.
