The consultation is being organized with the Nepal Planning Commission and ICIMOD, with support from theCentral Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Tribhuvan University, Nepal;Disaster Preparedness Network–Nepal; the International Water Management Institute; Lutheran World Relief; UNDP; andUNICEF.

Objectives

The consultation aims to achieve the following goals:

1. Identify issues and opportunities for transboundary collaboration and strengthening science–policy–practice interlinkage in the Koshi basin on waterrelated DRR from Nepal’s perspective.
2. Discuss the structure and formation of the Nepal country chapter with appropriate governance and identify priority areas for the KDKH

Expected outcomes

The expected outcomes of the consultation are as follows:

1. Identification of the key priority areas for transboundary collaboration and strengthening science–policy–practice interlinkage to reduce water-related disaster risks
2. Formation of the Nepal country chapter with an appropriate governance structure and working group leads and co-leads for the KDKH
