Meeting
The Second Steering Committee Meeting and Technical Coordination Meeting for Strengthening Water Resources Management in Afghanistan (SWaRMA) will be held from 5 to 6 April 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Members will discuss the outcomes and progress made till date and explore how the goals set during the First Steering Committee Meeting can be effectively achieved.

SWaRMA is a two-year project supported by the Governments of Afghanistan and Australia and implemented by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in collaboration with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). The project aims to co-create learning opportunities to strengthen water resources management in Afghanistan by assessing water resources at various levels, monitoring the cryosphere and floods at the community level, developing and using water information systems, fostering integrated river basin management, and supporting Afghanistan’s regional engagement to showcase result-based outcomes.
