Programmes

Mountain Knowledge and Action Networks (MKAN), SANDEE

Venue

Kathmandu, Nepal

Date & Time

10 December 2018 to 13 December 2018

The South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) is an initiative of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) under its regional programme on Mountain Knowledge and Action Networks (MKAN). SANDEE is a research capacity-building network that supports South Asian researchers and institutions interested in the connections between economic development, the environment, and the use of natural resources.

SANDEE will hold its 36th Biannual Research and Training (R&T) Workshop in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Selected researchers, whose proposals have gone through peer review, will present to peers and SANDEE faculty advisors and defend their proposals for SANDEE research grants. The workshop will also review the progress of research under past SANDEE–ICIMOD grants.

SANDEE is also organizing a two-day advanced course on programme evaluation right after the R&T workshop. The course targets researchers who are working on SANDEE-funded studies related to environment and development economics. The course will introduce theories and practical strategies for undertaking impact evaluation of natural resource and environmental programmes and policies. It will identify key issues in programme evaluation and addresses methodological possibilities for drawing causal inferences as they are used in resource and environmental economics.
