International Women’s Day 2017

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. As in the past years, ICIMOD will be celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on Wednesday, 8 March 2017. The theme for IWD this year is ‘Be Bold for Change‘ . ICIMOD will be celebrating this important day by organizing several programmes in-house.

• Presentation of scholarships to selected girl students from a local government school

Pakistan

The ICIMOD Pakistan Office is planning to celebrate International Women’s Day 2017 in Islamabad in collaboration with the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFS&R), the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Fatima Jinnah Women University, the Hashoo Foundation, Technology Times, IUCN, and local partners on 8 March 2017.
