Programme Officer - HIREAP Ecosystem and landscape restoration (SG2-AAD) Resilient mountain economies and landscapes (SG2)
Sabina Uprety is a Programme Officer with the Himalayan Resilience Enabling Action Programme (HI-REAP). Previously, she was Programme Associate with the Resilient Mountain Solutions (RMS) initiative. Sabina joined ICIMOD in 2015 in the Strategic Cooperation Unit as an SSA. Earlier, she was associated with several NGOs and private companies in Nepal.
Sabina holds a master’s degree in business administration.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
One individual alone cannot protect the pulse of the planet, but I can surely contribute my sincere efforts through ICIMOD. I do my bit by being a responsible individual and taking my work seriously since, collectively, we touch the lives of thousands of people.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
I enjoy the calm and serene working environment which is really a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city. I also enjoy working with my wonderful colleagues who bring so much happiness and inspiration in my life.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about travelling, and reading fiction and poetry.
My qualifications
I hold an MBA from Ace Institute of Management in Nepal. I joined ICIMOD originally in the Strategic Cooperation Unit and then moved to the HICAP Initiative before taking up my current role.
