Md. Jaber Hassan

As a Digital Communications and Outreach Officer at ICIMOD, Jaber Hassan leads SERVIR-Hindu Kush Himalaya’s communications and outreach activities. SERVIR-Hindu Kush Himalaya is a joint initiative of NASA, USAID, and ICIMOD that addresses critical challenges in climate change, food security, water, land use, and air quality across the Hindu Kush Himalaya region. Specifically, Jaber steers ICIMOD’s communication mechanisms in the areas of transboundary risk reduction and adaptation, air quality, biodiversity and environmental health, and green mountain economies.

His diverse career background spans the development sector, electronic media, and advertising. Born and brought up in Chittagong, Bangladesh, Jaber holds a BA in philosophy from the University of Chittagong and an MSS in television and film studies from the University of Dhaka.
