The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre serving the eight countries of the Hindu Kush Himalaya – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan – and is based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
ICIMOD undertakes fieldwork at high altitudes, installing and maintaining meteorological and hydrological instruments and conducts glaciological measurements in Nepal. The field expeditions are typically carried out in spring and autumn every year but are also organised at other times. Potential field sites include glaciers in Langtang Valley, Hidden Valley in Lower Mustang, Ponkar Glacier in Manang, and Solukhumbu in Nepal.
ICIMOD invites registered and qualified trekking agencies in Nepal to submit proposals for the facilitation of the ICIMOD field expeditions to the mentioned sites for a two-year period under a framework agreement. The RFP document, outlining the proposal submission procedure and other details, is available from ICIMOD upon payment of NPR 2,000 (non-refundable) between 2–4 pm from Monday–Friday.
The filled in RFP should include technical and financial offers in two separate sealed envelopes. These envelopes should be packaged and sealed within one outer envelope, addressed to ICIMOD, Khumaltar, Lalitpur and marked as ‘RFP for Trekking Agency Service’. The completed RFP must be submitted to the ICIMOD Procurement Office by 29 Feb 2024, 4 pm.
ICIMOD reserves the right to accept or reject any or all RFP offers without providing any reason whatsoever.
