In this intervention we focus on producing evidence to track the causes of air pollution, while also building consensus on air pollution in our RMCs.
Ground based data is key to understanding on-site conditions of air in our member countries. We have supported the establishment of several AQ monitoring stations in our partner countries including those in Nepal, Bhutan and Pakistan.
Along with measuring ground-based data, our observatories also collect data linked to meteorological parameters.

With ground-based data, we use satellite products like the GK2A to show and differentiate between fog and low cloud types. Other products like GK2A-RGB helps in monitoring phenomena like dust plumes.
We are also adopting machine learning models to improve how monitoring and prediction is being done for air quality in the region.

The air quality dashboard provides a regional overview of air quality in our regional member countries. Aside from forecast, emission and demographic data, users can also download different types of RGB data to visualise how dust, particles and clouds are interacting in the region.
Our work has always emphasized a solutions-based approach to solving for the persistent problem of polluted air. From adopting of cleaner bricks to pellets made from crop residue, see how we create a space for identifying, testing and sharing of actionable solutions
