Springshed Management Analyst - Community Engagement Ecosystem and landscape restoration (SG2-AAD) Resilient mountain economies and landscapes (SG2)
Goma Khadka serves as Springshed Management Analyst for Community Engagement at ICIMOD, contributing to ecosystem and landscape restoration under the Strategic Group ‘Resilient Mountain Economies and Landscapes’. Her work focuses on fostering community engagement and participatory approaches to promote Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)-responsive springshed management in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region. She coordinates with implementing partners, provides technical support, and contributes to knowledge sharing and dissemination.
Prior to joining ICIMOD in 2024, Goma worked as Research Associate for S4W-Nepal and as a consultant for renowned institutions, including the Central Department of Geology (CDG), the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Management Board (KVWSMB), and the President Chure Terai Madhesh Conservation Development Board (PCTMCDB). Her expertise spans hydrogeological assessments, comprehensive water resource management initiatives, and disaster risk reduction (DRR) projects. Goma is also an active researcher, having authored and co-authored peer-reviewed articles on groundwater resources and their sustainable management in Nepal.
Goma holds a master’s degree in Geology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and currently serves as an Executive Member of the Nepal Geological Society.
