Conference
HI-AWARE
ICIMOD
20 September 2018 to 21 September 2018
This year South Asia has faced its share of climate events – from heat waves in Pakistan to historically high level deluges in the southern parts of India. HI-AWARE’s focus in the South Asian region, specifically in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region, is on understanding the future projections of these climatic factors and how they will influence upstream and downstream communities and their livelihoods. Driving questions for HI-AWARE over the past 5 years have ranged across topics from flood impacts to migration patterns in the HKH region.
In its 5th Climate Change Adaptation Policy & Science (CCAPS) conference, HI-AWARE will revisit these questions, presenting its findings from its four study basins in Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The two day end-of-project conference will focus on gendered vulnerabilities in the HKH region and will also disseminate the major outcomes of the HI-AWARE project. A detailed programme agenda can be found here.
