ICIMOD’s ongoing Clean Brick Initiative project – funded by DFID Nepal – is concluding on 30 June 2019 with a formal gathering of all key, relevant stakeholders of the brick sector in Nepal.

The ceremony is expected to be formally inaugurated by Honourable Minister Matrika Prasad Yadav, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and will be attended by government officials from the Ministries of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (Departments of Industry and Small Scale and Cottage Industries); Labour, Employment and Social Security (Department of Labour); Federal Affairs and General Administration; and Forests and Environment. Representatives from the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI), Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Shikhar Insurance, and Open Learning Exchange Nepal will also be in attendance.

ICIMOD along with its partners – Federation of Nepal Brick Industries (FNBI) and MinErgy Pvt. Ltd ¬– will be presenting the project’s achievements in the fields of technology, social interventions, and up-scaling to other countries in Hindu Kush Himalayan region. The brick sector’s journey through the project’s interventions will also be showcased at this concluding ceremony.
