Background

The “Building capabilities for green, climate resilient and inclusive development in the lower Koshi river basin” HI-GRID project, under Action Area A: Managing Cryosphere and Water Risks is organising a two-day planning workshop for its partners on 24 and 25 February 2025 at ICIMOD headquarters.  This workshop serves as a crucial platform for reviewing the progress of activities undertaken in 2024 and collaboratively planning for the implementation of activities for 2025 and 2026. Additionally, the workshop will provide an opportunity to engage with representatives from each partnering organisation, fostering discussions on strategic implementation, reporting requirements, and safeguarding considerations.

Objectives

  • To conduct a review of progress towards activities, highlight challenges and learnings from 2024 activities
  • To develop the implementation plan for 2025 and 2026 ensuring alignment with project MEL framework
  • To enhance partner’s’ understanding on the reporting requirements of “Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade” (DFAT), ensuring compliance and effectiveness in technical and financial documentation
  • To orient partners on safeguarding measures during project implementation and identifying mitigation measures.

Key Outputs

  • Identification of challenges faced in 2024 implementation and key takeaways for implementation in 2025 and 2026
  • Development of an implementation workplan for 2025 and 2026
  • Enhanced understanding of safeguarding measures

Expected Outcome

  • Clarity and alignment among partners regarding the implementation of activities in 2025 and 2026 onwards based on DFAT requirements.
