High Impact Weather Assessment Toolkit for Bangladesh Meteorological Department

Our SERVIR Hindu Kush Himalaya (SERVIR-HKH) Initiative is collaborating with the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), NASA SERVIR Science Coordination Office (SCO) and the NASA – Short-term Prediction Research and Transition Center (SPoRT) on the implementation of High Impact Weather Assessment Toolkit (HIWAT) for the BMD. The NASA SERVIR Applied Sciences Team developed the system and further customized it for Bangladesh. BMD has invested its own resources to install HIWAT on its high-performance computing cluster to support its operational forecasts.
