About the event

ICIMOD – in collaboration with the Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) and as lead partner of the CCAC’s Bricks Production Initiative – has been working towards mitigating black carbon and CO2 emissions from brick production in the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) region and South Asia. This collaboration aims to support informed strategies at the public policy level that catalyse the reduction of emissions and widespread regional adaptation of cost-effective and scalable technologies.

This event aims to provide national governments and decision-makers with an overview of existing clean and socially inclusive solutions in the brick sector. Participants will share the significant improvements made by the brick industries in South Asia and the HKH region. This dialogue will help establish a comprehensive understanding of the brick sector’s contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals and Nationally Determined Contributions.
