About the workshop

We are partnering with the Indian Society for Ecological Economics (INSEE) and Mongabay India to jointly organise a workshop on economic valuation of ecosystem services to sensitise journalists in environmental and ecological economics-related issues.

 

Eligibility

  • Journalists and copy editors covering environmental and/or developmental issues from South Asia can apply.
  • Participants should possess a basic understanding of South Asia’s environmental concerns.
  • Participants should have prior journalistic experience (at least four years).

 

Application process and timeline

Application deadline: 30 January 2023 | 17:00 IST

The selected applicants will receive a confirmation by the first week of February. Around 30 journalists will be selected for the session.

About the organisers

SANDEE is a research capacity-building network at ICIMOD that works in South Asia and the HKH region, supporting researchers from the region and institutions interested in understanding the interconnections among economic development, the environment, and the use of natural resources through rigorous research.

INSEE is a professional network of environmental/ecological economists based in India which provides a forum for continuous dialogue among scholars, practitioners, and policy analysts working at the interface of the economy, society, and the ecosystem.
