Despite major efforts to promote adaptation actions, gaps between policies and local responses persist and limit effective pathways toward more resilient mountain communities. This MRD Talk offered an opportunity for exchange between researchers, policymakers, and practitioners on how to improve the situation. They highlighted the need to link sectors and levels, involve local communities, use context-specific knowledge, and tackle inequalities. A recording of the event and a summary of key insights with links to resources mentioned are now available online.
The event opened the new MRD Talks series, which is organized jointly by Mountain Research and Development (MRD) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) as part of the PRIMA project funded by Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
