@ICIMOD: Profiling Media Reporting on Mountain Issues
The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre that serves the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalayas – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan. ICIMOD’s headquarters is in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The effects of globalization and climate change have put increasing pressure on the fragile mountain ecosystems and the livelihoods of mountain people. ICIMOD aims to help mountain people understand these changes, adapt to them, and make the most of new opportunities.

ICIMOD’s central mailing database has over 8,000 members. It is as an important tool for sharing our messages about sustainable mountain development within and outside the region. The members include our partners, donors, government organizations, private sector, academia, researchers, students, associates and media persons who are interested in mountain issues. All members with email IDs regularly receive our news, updates, announcements, newsletters and press releases.

More than 1,300 members are media representatives from the Hindu Kush Himalayan region and beyond. Over the past decade, ICIMOD has actively engaged media in its programmes. We have held workshops, conferences, seminars, press events, outreach activities, capacity building activities and field visits for journalists. Media coverage on our work has grown over the years, and this has increased our visibility within and outside the region. ICIMOD has become the first port-of-call for journalists looking for evidence-based data and information on climate change and mountain development in the region.

We hope the information we provide has deepened your knowledge about the topic(s) you are working on and helped you produce informed and accurate stories.

To enhance our knowledge sharing capacity, we are conducting a small online survey with the following objectives:

A PRIZE for you! ICIMOD will award a prize worth USD 100 to a name selected randomly by the system.

If you face problems while submitting the form, please email Sudina Shakya: Sudina.shakya@icimod.org

All the information received from you will be held in strict confidentiality.

Thank you for your cooperation.
