• Dasgupta Fellow 2014
  Dr. Bishnu Sharma received this fellowship for the year 2014. Bishnu holds a Ph.D. in from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. Dr. Sharma is working in the area of REDD, his research topic is, “Examining the Implications of REDD payments on Livelihoods and Local Economic Development in Nepal”. Within environmental economics, his primary area of interest is forest economics. He is currently working with SANDEE on a forest environmental economics issue of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+). His is preparing to add several peer-reviewed publication from REDD study to his existing list of publications.

• Dasgupta Fellow 2013
  Dr. Rajesh Rai received this fellowship for the year 2013. Rajesh holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics from Deakin University, Australia and his recent research was on the management of invasive species in the Terai region of Nepal. He has several publications on economic aspects of natural resource management in international journals including Environment and Development Economics, Journal for Nature Conservation, and Mountain Research and Development. He has also worked as a Program Officer for the Natural Resource Management Sector Assistance Program supported by DANIDA and SNV funded Biodiversity Sector Program for Siwaliks and Terai. Rajesh has also been a Research Assistant in Monash University, Australia and an Intern in the Swedish Forest Agency, Jonkoping, Sweden. His main research interest is in non-market valuation (particularly choice experiments), ecosystem services, poverty-environment nexus, invasive plant species and sustainable forest management.

• Dasgupta Fellow 2010
  Vikram Dayal is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi. He has worked on a range of environmental and developmental issues: from Prosopis juliflora and tigers in Ranthambhore National Park to indoor and outdoor air pollution in Goa, India. He was exposed to these issues while a member of the Hindu College Nature Club and the student group, People’s Environment Group, where he learnt from a range of researchers and academics. His first job was at TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute), where he interacted with members of think-tanks and government officials from different sectors. He co-edited the Oxford Handbook of Environmental Economics in India with Professor Kanchan Chopra, which was published in 2009. He attended the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis in Bloomington, Indiana as a SANDEE (South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics) Partha Dasgupta Fellow in 2011; this led to the publication of a SpringerBrief titled “The Environment in Economics and Development: Pluralist Extensions of Core Economic Models”. He is a member of the Indian Society for Ecological Economics. His current interests are in implementing methodological pluralism, dynamic ecological-economic modelling, institutional enquiry and multilevel modelling.
  
  Dr. Haripriya Gundimeda holds a masters degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in Development Policy from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in India. She is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay,. She has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Behavioural Sciences, at the University of Colorado, Boulder, as well as a Ratan Tata Fellow at the Asia Research Centre, at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and a Visiting Researcher at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She has been the recipient of the first Sir Partha Dasgupta Fellowship instituted by SANDEE. Her main areas of research have been green accounting, mitigation aspects of climate change, energy demand and pricing, valuation of environmental resources, and issues relating to the development in India. She has been awarded START young scientist award for her work on carbon sequestration. She has been the Co-Co-ordinator of the Project “The economics of ecosystems and biodiversity” hosted by United Nations Environment Program. She has been part of the Expert committee set up by Prime Minister under the chairmanship of Partha Dasgupta to develop a framework for Green National Accounting in India.
