Demographic and Health Surveys
The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) project is the third consecutive worldwide research project initiated by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to provide data and analysis on the population, health, and nutrition of women and children in developing countries. Its two predecessors, the World Fertility Survey (WFS) and the Contraceptive Prevalence Surveys (CPS), paved the way for the DHS project by focusing their research on questions related to fertility, family planning, and mortality. They also helped develop DHS’ current reputation as a leader in the field of demographic and health research.

Green Indian States Trust (GIST)
The Green Accounting for Indian States & Union Territories Project? (GAISP), seeks to build a framework of national accounts that presents genuine net additions to national wealth. This system of environmentally-adjusted national income accounts will measure the depletion of natural resources and the costs of pollution and will evaluate additions to the stock of human capital. To borrow from the language of accountants, we want to help present national accounts in the form of a balance sheet and not as an income and expenditure account.

Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS)
Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) household surveys have become an important tool in measuring and understanding poverty in developing countries. The Development Economics Research Group (DECRG) of the World Bank, formerly the Policy Research Department, maintains this website to make available to researchers around the world the data sets and methodological lessons from these surveys.
