Indu Chitrakar joined ICIMOD in September 2014 as a Procurement Associate and transitioned to the role of Programme Associate for Regional Programmes in April 2018. In her current position, she focuses on administration, procurement, financial oversight, and logistical support to ensure the seamless execution of regional programmes and initiatives.

With over two decades of professional experience, Indu has held significant positions in procurement and project management. Before her tenure at ICIMOD, she served as Assistant Manager of Procurement at International Business Network. Additionally, she has substantial experience in organising national policy dialogues and managing administrative operations.

Indu holds an MBS and a BBS in finance from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Fluent in English, Nepali, Newari, and Hindi, she is committed to enhancing the resilience and sustainable development of mountain communities.

My qualifications

A:

I hold a Masters in business studies from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. I joined ICIMOD in originally as a Procurement Associate and have experience in a broad range of skills related to procurement processes. Prior to joining ICIMOD, I worked at the International Business Network Pvt. Ltd (IBN) for 6 years as the Procurement Officer and was responsible in bidding for government tenders, where I was specifically involved in bidding Nepal Telecom tenders. For 3 years, I worked as Program Executive at the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), an association for Nepali industries, where among my responsibilities, I was involved in supporting national level meetings and events.
