As a Research Associate focusing on water resources within the Water and Air Theme, I work with the Indus Basin Initiative, playing a diverse role contributing to several sectors in agriculture water management, climate change, hydropower, and floods.

I protect the pulse of the planet through the work I do providing relevant information for planning and coping with the uncertain future.

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

Get to learn new things every day, teamwork, diversity and the working environment are my favorite parts of the work I do at ICIMOD and I must say that I feel blessed to get the opportunity to work here.

My qualifications

A:

I hold a post graduate degree in environmental engineering and management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and have been involved in several research projects related to water management in high altitudes, the impacts of climate change, floods in the HKH, communicating flood warning information for the last mile connectivity in Nepal, hydropower sustainability. I have been involved in report writing and journal publication and have prior experience working with the Government of Nepal as a municipality facilitator in Bidur Municipality in Nuwakot district for the Local Governance and Community Development Program under the Ministry of Federal Affairs.
