Srabani Roy has led ICIMOD’s Resilient Mountain Economies and Landscapes strategic group since October 2023.
Srabani is an environmental specialist with over 20 years of experience in environment and sustainable development, providing technical and strategic leadership on natural resources management and policy, freshwater resources, ecosystems services, climate change adaptation, green growth, and environmental governance programs throughout Asia-Pacific and the U.S.
She has worked for several public and private sector organizations, managing and leading strategic programme and project development and planning, donor and partnership relations, program management, and communications.
Prior to joining ICIMOD, Srabani was the Senior Director for Partnerships for the Asia-Pacific Region for Conservation International (CI), a U.S.-based environmental non-profit organization. She developed new strategic and programmatic opportunities and partnerships within the region covering Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. Srabani managed and cultivated government, donor, and partner relations and was responsible for fundraising and communications for all of CI’s programs in the region, as well as overall leadership for the regional programs, operations, staff, and consultants.
During her tenure, Srabani more than doubled the financial and staff resources for the programme.
