Zenita Tamang is an Administrative Associate within ICIMOD’s Strategic Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (SPMEL) unit. She took up this role in 2020, providing comprehensive support to the team by managing administrative tasks, overseeing logistics, and ensuring effective Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) processes.

Previously, she worked as Finance Officer at Handicap International Nepal for inclusive education, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and livelihood projects.

Zenita holds an MBA degree from Apex College, Kathmandu, Nepal with specialisation in Finance.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

On a personal level, I protect the pulse of the planet by avoiding the use of plastics in my day-to-day life and promoting the use of more eco-friendly products.

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

I enjoy the working environment and that colleagues of different nationalities and cultures celebrate together national and international events with equal enthusiasm and excitement regardless of nationality.

What are you passionate about?

A:

Currently I am passionate about watching cake baking shows. I am not really into baking myself, but I love watching how they can beautifully replicate almost anything in the form of a cake. Recently, I have realized my keen interest towards research and analysis along with learning new techniques involved within it.

My qualifications

A:

I have four years professional experience beginning with my work in the Handicap International Federation (currently known as Humanity & Inclusion) where I served in different positions including as an Intern in the Human Resources and Administration Department, as a Project Assistant for a project related to Earthquake Recovery (Livelihood and Resilience) in different districts of Kavre and later as an Administration and Finance Officer for their Inclusive Education Project (Reading for All) across 16 districts of Nepal. I gained experience in partner selection processes, post monitoring distribution, need assessments proposal preparation and coordinating with district and ward level government line agencies.

I have an MBA degree with a specialization in finance from Apex College, Nepal, an undergraduate degree in information systems from Kathmandu University, Nepal and I also completed an online diploma course on human resource management.
